1Is Arkayne affiliated with Joost List?

No, we simply subscribe to their RSS feed and link similar articles from our network on this site. Currently none of tha articles linked show up on the Joost List website. The linking is doen using the Arkayne API.

2What is Arkayne?

The Arkayne tool finds similar web pages from thousands of others. This tool is particularly useful for providing readers access to content sources that are as similar as possible to a specific content source, such as a blog. With a small site footprint and very short implementation time, Arkayne tool is indispensable for content publishers who wish to provide their audience with 'second opinions' or more reading on related topics.

3How do I use Arkayne?

Get the widget and embedd it in your blog. No need for RSS feeds or account setup. Arkayne is geared to be simple and easy to deploy. Get your widget for Wordpress, BlogSpot, JavaScript.

4How long does it take to link my blog?

The blog linking process usually takes about 15 minutes. On days when the the traffic is heavy we may take as long as an hour or two. Be patient, unless your widget displays an error message your page is queued.

5How do I get better links, more similar content?

The key to better links is content. For new blogs be patient, as more pages from your blog are submitted Arkayne will improve the links on all your pages automatically. For existing blogs write more, Arkayne links based on content, if an article has relatively little content then it is less likely to link with other blogs. If you would like to suggest a link, the widget has a "More Links At Arkayne..." link. Visit the link and use the "Copy" and "Paste" links at the bottom of the page to submit a link. This feature is only avilable for pages hosting the widget.

6How do I customize my widget?

The Arkayne widget can be customized to match almost any site. Instructions for customizing each platform as as follows: Wordpress, BlogSpot, JavaScript.

7What happens if I change a page?

When one of your pages changes or ceases to exist notify Arkayne through the contact page. We will promptly update the links. In the future we hope to automate this process.

8Does Arkayne require an account or a login?

No, Arkayne is a content linking widget based on page similarity. Simply embedd the widget in your page and youre done. We do not require any personal information.

9What languages does Arkayne support?

Arkayne currently supports ALL languages. The links will match the native language of your page. In addition you can customize the wording on the widget to match your own language. For example several blogs using Arkayne are written in Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Polish, German, and Portugese. All are welcome.

10How do I cancel my Arkayne links?

Its as easy as signing up, just remove the widget from your pages. We will continue to link your blog from other sites. If you would like to remove your links from the pages then please contact us. We suggest leaving the links in place, who knows one day you may see traffic from Arkayne start puring in.

11How does Arkayne prevent spam on my pages?

Arkayne ranks pages by similarity which goes a long way to prevent spam. So far the linking engine has been able to filter all spam and we are not receiving any complaints. If you are concenrned about links in your Arkayne widget dont hesitate to us. We strive to be the opposite of all that is spam, hence our focus on content driven links.

12Wont Arkayne get abused just like every other traffic service?

The biggest hurdle for abuse is content, similar content is typically not seen as abuse. Arkayne linking is based on content not popularity so abuse can be achieved only by tailoring content. So far we have not had reports of cheating or abuse.

13If Arkayne is free then how will it make money?

Currently Arkayne is in Beta to fine tune our operations. Once Arkayne is ready for Alpha we will introduce a monetization mechanism. We are strongly considering our users, both bloggers and readers. Expect an opt-in feature that includes revenue sharing for bloggers. We will NOT run embedded advertising or click through advertising, those models have a short lifespan and Arkayne is a long term aspiration. Whatever the revenue model we will not jeopardize our bloggers, youre a picky crowd and were glad we won you over.

14Arkayne is OK with Google's link policy, right?

Yes, the official Google link policy applies only to paid links. Arkayne is completely free and always will be. We may start to allow bloggers to opt into a pay per link advertising mechansim in the future. THe program will be opt in and adhere to Google's link policy.

15Why does Arkayne proxy the links?

Arkayne provides hit counts and conversion rates. These metrics are important in allowing bloggers to guage the performance and quality of the links. The goal is quality content links over mere page rank. If you have concerns regarding this policy please contact us, special options may be available.

16The widget shows "This page cannot be processed, please correct the html syntax." what do I do?

Arkayne parses your page and needs well formed html. If you get the above error please visit the page test link and submit the offending url of the host page. The Arkayne test page will display any html errors on the page and allow you to correct them. You may need to do this multiple times. Please bear in mind that most search engines prefer well formed html, this step will help your site overall.
